The sterling silver side plate above was precision cast. The process was a follows.  First the pattern was carved out of
a thin sheet of wax.   Next a silicone mold was made of the wax pattern.  This enabled me to make copies of the wax
pattern.  The waxes were then placed on a tree of wax and the assembly was encapsulated with investment plaster in a
steel cylinder . The wax was then burned out of the flask and  molten sterling silver was poured into the resulting
cavity.  The trigger guard pattern was fabricated out of steel and then reproduced by the same process.
